It’s August 3, and on this date in 1527, English explorer John Rut sent the very first letter from North America when he wrote to King Henry from his location in St. John’s, Newfoundland. In the nearly 500 years since then, countless pieces of mail have been sent from North America to destinations all over the world, and we are happy that a good portion of them have been exams that have gone to and from American School’s offices. For most of our 124-year history, we offered high school correspondence courses, and we are happy to still offer them to students who prefer to learn on paper with a textbook and study guide. More recently we added middle school correspondence courses for students in grades 6-8, and we have no plans to discontinue our paper-based middle school courses and paper-based high school courses. We enjoy receiving students’ exams in the mail and hand-grading them, offering constructive and personalized feedback on every exam we grade. In addition, we are happy to send and receive other important documents in the mail, including enrollment applications, transcripts and diplomas. If you want to receive an American School diploma in the mail one day, we invite you to enroll now. All of us would be happy to serve you!
