It’s February 6, and Massachusetts became a state on this date in 1788. Massachusetts is a special state to us because R.T. Miller and his friends founded American School in Massachusetts in 1897. In fact our charter, which still exists to this day, is from Massachusetts and not from Illinois, where we have been headquartered for more than a century. In the early days of American School, nobody could have imagined that we would serve more than 3 million students in all 50 states and more than 65 countries around the world, but that is what we have done in our 127-year history. Moreover, nobody could have imagined that we would offer an online high school diploma consisting of online high school courses, but we have done that too, all while continuing to offer a correspondence high school diploma consisting of paper-based high school courses. No matter where you live, we invite you to enroll and make us your distance education high school. We would be happy to serve you!
