Today’s Anniversary: Nevada

It’s October 31, and Nevada became a state on this date in 1864.  Nevada’s nickname is the Silver State, and silver is one of the elements found on the periodic table which is mentioned in all three of our chemistry courses.  We offer a non-lab course and a lab course among our high school correspondence courses and a lab-based course among our online high school courses.  Consider adding one of them to your curriculum today, especially if you plan to earn a high school diploma at home with American School.  The Illinois State Board of Education now requires students who enroll after August 2024 to take two science courses with labs in order to graduate, so please keep that in mind whether you live in Nevada or any of the other 49 states.  We are happy to serve you!

I found all the material and methods extremely satisfying.  It made the classes simple enough to learn while still being able to enjoy the process!  I spent my first two years of high school in a public school, but American School made it an enjoyable experience while still giving me the education I need.  My parents have never been so proud to see so many good grades coming from a homeschool program.
