It’s June 9, and on this day in 1973, Secretariat won horse racing’s Triple Crown with a dominating 31-length victory in the Belmont Stakes. The Triple Crown consists of the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont Stakes and has been won 13 times, most recently by Justify in 2018.
