It’s March 24, and 100 years ago today the 1921 Women’s Olympiad opened in Monte Carlo, Monaco. It was the first international women’s sporting event and thankfully women’s sports have grown by leaps and bounds since then. To celebrate, we’re going to mention several female athletes who have taken our online high school courses or high school correspondence courses over the years. They include tennis champions Caroline Wozniacki, Mary Pierce, Anna Kournikova, Kathleen Horvath and Andrea Jaeger, ice skaters Tanya Street and Deanna Stellato, surfer Bethany Hamilton and swimmer Katie Hoff, who earned Olympic medals in 2004 and 2008. Many of the female athletes mentioned in this blog chose us because we offer our students the ability to work at their own pace, whenever and wherever it is convenient for them. Dip your foot in the pool and enroll with us today. We’d be happy to help make you a champion in whatever field you pursue after you make us your distance education high school.
