It’s January 21, and The Power of Sympathy, sometimes called The Triumph of Nature, was published on this day in 1789. This work by William Hill Brown is thought to be the very first American novel, and so today our blog is going to focus on our American Literature course. It’s one of many high school correspondence courses in our curriculum, and homeschooling students may take it as part of an accredited high school program or for enrichment. In a similar way, students who attend traditional schools may take the course on an individual basis for credit recovery. Either way, students who take American Literature will read works by famous authors from 1789 to the present and earn high school credit in the process. Enroll now!
