It’s July 8, and on this date in 2017, two American School employees were in Philadelphia for a convention. During some free time they took a tour of Independence Hall. The docent told the group that the Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, which we now know is Independence Day, but it was read aloud for the very first time by a man named John Nixon 241 years ago to the day in the very hall in which they were standing. In fact, under normal non-pandemic circumstances, the Declaration of Independence is read aloud every July 8 at Independence Hall to mark this occasion. American School allows students to declare their independence in several ways. We allow students to work at their own pace in a classroom of one. In this way, they are independent from the constraints of traditional classrooms which can be too slow for some students or leave other students behind. American School also allows students the independence and freedom to learn in the method most comfortable to them. We offer online high school courses and high school correspondence courses for students in grades 9-12. Similarly, we offer online middle school courses and middle school correspondence courses for students in grades 6-8. We are proud to give our students this kind of independence and flexibility, and we want you to experience it too. Enroll today!
