It’s May 6, and on this date in 1954, Roger Bannister became the first man to run a mile in less than four minutes. Runners know how to pace themselves so they can give their maximum performance. When Roger Bannister broke the four minute mile barrier, he didn’t start running so quickly that he became tired at the end. Rather, he paced himself so that he could be running his best at the end of the race. Here at American School we know that students have different talents and abilities and so we allow students to work at their own pace in their accredited middle school courses or accredited high school courses. If students want to sprint through a course because they are comfortable with the material, they can do that. If students need more time to master the material, they can do that. Working at their own pace is one of the major things homeschool students like about studying with American School and we believe you’ll feel the same way. Enroll today!
