It’s October 4, and the Gregorian Calendar was introduced by Pope Gregory XIII on this date in 1852.  The Gregorian Calendar is used in most parts of the world, and so today is a good time to remind you of some important dates on the American School calendar.  A good rule of thumb when it comes to the American School calendar is that if there is no mail delivery on a particular day then American School is most likely closed.  A full list of days on which the School will be closed is available in the student handbook.  The School is also always closed between December 24 and January 1, though additional days may be added before or after Christmas Eve or New Year’s Day depending on how the calendar falls in that particular year.  Since American School is located near Chicago, the School is susceptible to winter weather, and on days where it is not safe for our employees to travel to work, we will post information about potential closures as soon as it is finalized.  Besides the days listed above, American School is open every Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Chicago time and looks forward to assisting you with your accredited middle school courses or accredited high school courses during regular business hours.  You should not expect to receive service or replies to emails on weekends or on days the School is closed.  Thank you for your cooperation and for homeschooling with us!
