Today’s Anniversary: The National Park Service

It's August 25, and the United States National Park Service was founded on this date in 1816.  If you're a regular reader of this blog, you know that we encourage you to visit presidential libraries and museums as a way of making history come alive.  The same can be said of national parks, and there are many more national parks, trails and historic sites than there are presidential libraries and museums.  In fact, there's probably a national park close to your home, and you may not even realize it!  The link above contains a map to help you find a national park that might interest you.  Going there might be a nice break from your accredited middle school program, accredited high school program or independent study high school program.  That's one of the nice things about enrolling with American School.  You can work where and when it is convenient for you, and you are not bound to a specific schedule.  If the weather is great and you feel like going to a national park, you can go there and not fall behind on your classes.  All of us want to see you succeed and get the best education possible.  Our accredited courses and your field trips to national parks or presidential libraries and museums or other educational sites can help you reach your educational goals.  Take the first step and enroll with us today!
