It’s May 8, and the very first Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show occurred on this date in 1877.  The Westminster Kennel Club continues to hold a dog show every year, and usually it occurs in February at Madison Square Garden in New York City, drawing breeds, handlers and dog lovers from across the United States and around the world.  This anniversary got us thinking about the various groups and breeds at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and how they might connect to American School.  At the dog show, dogs are divided into seven groups based on characteristics.  At American School, our accredited middle school courses and accredited high school courses are also divided into seven groups, this time based on general subject matter.  At the dog show, each group contains many different breeds.  At American School, each group contains many different courses.  In both cases, there is something for everyone.  Don’t let your education go to the dogs.  Enroll today and homeschool with us.  You’ll be glad you did!
