It’s February 12, and Abraham Lincoln was born on this day in 1809. Although Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky and spent his childhood in Indiana, he spent most of his life in Illinois, which is why the state is called the Land of Lincoln. We even have a bust of him in our library here at American School. Abraham Lincoln is often near the top of the list of greatest Presidents of the United States, and you can learn more about his life and legacy by visiting his presidential library and museum in Springfield, Illinois. If you can’t visit in person, this link will take you there for a virtual visit. As we’ve said so many times before, visiting presidential libraries and museums is a great way to make your social studies courses come to life. Thank you for homeschooling with us by making us your distance learning middle school or distance learning high school.
