It’s February 12, and Abraham Lincoln was born on this date in 1809. Many times over the years this blog has encouraged you to visit presidential libraries and museums, and the one closest to American School’s headquarters (for now) is the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in downstate Springfield, Illinois. We say it’s the closest for now because President Barack Obama’s library and museum is scheduled to be built in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago near our headquarters for much of the 20th century. A visit to any presidential library or museum–in person or virtually–is a great way to make your social studies courses come to life, and we offer many of them among our middle school courses and high school courses. Take them as part of a full-year program en route to an accredited high school diploma, or take just one for enrichment or credit recovery purposes. No matter where you live or how many courses you need, American School would be happy to serve you. Enroll today and check back Tuesday for our next blog.
