It’s August 4, and Barack Obama turns 65 years old today. He was the 44th President of the United States, and while American School is always neutral when it comes to political matters, we are mentioning his birthday today because the Obama Presidential Center recently opened in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, not too far away from our longtime headquarters until we moved to our current location in 1996. This blog also has a history of inviting homeschooling students to attend presidential libraries and museums as a way of making middle school courses and high school courses come to life. Try to visit one soon. You’ll be glad you did!
