It’s January 17, and Benjamin Franklin was born on this date in 1706. He is one of the most famous early Americans and did a lot of different things during his life. You might know him as a statesman, a printer, the first Postmaster General of the United States, a scientist, and in fact he was all of those things and more. Philadelphia is home to many historical sites, including the Benjamin Franklin Museum.
