It’s July 22, and poet Emma Lazarus was born on this date in 1849. Her poem The New Colossus is on the base of the Statue of Liberty, and the most famous line in that poem contains “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” among other notable words. Those words symbolized that America would welcome immigrants to its shores, and often immigrants sailed into Ellis Island right near the Statue of Liberty. In a similar way, American School welcomes all students who are ready to further their educations regardless of their circumstances. We offer an accredited middle school program for homeschool students in grades 6-8, an accredited high school program for homeschool students in grades 9-12, and a credit recovery or enrichment program for students who plan to earn diplomas elsewhere. We welcome students of all races, genders and locations and would like to welcome you as well. Take the first step and enroll today!
