It’s February 22, and George Washington was born on this date in 1732. If you’re a longtime reader of this blog, you know that we encourage students in our accredited middle school program, accredited high school program or independent study program to visit presidential libraries whenever possible. Some presidents, however, do not have official presidential libraries, but they do have restored homes which are available to visit. Such is the case with George Washington, whose Mount Vernon home welcomes visitors year-round. We encourage you to visit there and other presidential homes if you are ever nearby. You will learn a great deal about the president and his family, and visiting presidential homes and libraries is a great way to make your American School social studies courses come to life. Thank you for making us your distance learning middle school or distance education high school!
