It’s April 19, and actor Hugh O’Brian was born on this date in 1925. In entertainment, he is perhaps best known for playing the title character in The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, but one could argue that Hugh O’Brian has had a bigger impact on teenagers. That’s because he founded the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Foundation in 1958, and to date more than 500,000 students have attended a HOBY event at the state or national level. The events allow students to meet peers from around their state and enhance their service and leadership skills in the process. Like Hugh O’Brian, we believe that homeschooling students in our accredited high school program have the potential for greatness, and so we are happy to share information about groups such as HOBY whenever we can. Thank you for making us your distance education high school!
