It’s August 14, and legendary basketball player Magic Johnson was born on this day in 1959. He won 5 NBA titles and 3 MVP awards as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, but he also won a national championship in 1979 as a member of the Michigan State Spartans basketball team. Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely that any American School student will experience one shining moment of his or her own anytime soon. That’s because our paper-based high school courses and online high school courses are not approved by the NCAA. This is in spite of the fact that our homeschool courses are written to standards and American School is accredited by three reputable regional accrediting bodies. In good conscience, we cannot recommend you enroll in our accredited high school program or independent study high school program if you wish to play college sports.
