It’s May 18, and photographer Mathew Brady was born on this date in 1822. He lived at a time when photography was just starting to evolve, and he used his photographic skills to document American history in the mid-1800s. On a bright note, he and his assistants photographed 18 Presidents of the United States. On a somber note, he and his assistants photographed many battles of the Civil War, which brought the harsh reality of war and death and loss to Americans across the country. Photography has evolved greatly since Mathew Brady’s time, and American School offers a digital photography course for students interested in learning this skill. The course is one of several electives available for students in our accredited high school program who are working to earn a high school diploma at home. It is also available as an individual subject for enrichment or for credit recovery through our independent study program. No matter which program you choose, tuition is affordable and all-inclusive, meaning that all study materials and grading are included in the cost of the course. You’ll be smiling after you complete any American School course, but the only way to do that is by enrolling. Get started today!
