It’s February 25, and if we had power on Wednesday, we would’ve celebrated Samuel Pepys on that day since he was born on February 23, 1633.  Instead we’re celebrating him today.  He is best known for keeping a diary for nearly a decade, and that diary has become a major source of information about life in and around London in the 1660s.  Samuel Pepys and his diary got us thinking about different types of writing.  Certainly students in our accredited middle school program and accredited high school program learn to become better writers by taking English courses, but you can become a better writer by keeping a diary or journal also.  You may use it to share your thoughts on a daily basis, or you may use it simply to practice different writing styles and techniques.  In time you will develop your own unique writing style, but even as you grow as a writer and try new things, you will continue to use the good spelling and grammar skills you learned in our middle school courses and high school courses in that process.  To take any of our English courses, we encourage you to enroll today.  You’ll be glad you did!
