Today’s Special Occasion: Smokey Bear’s 80th Birthday

It’s August 9, and Smokey Bear turns 80 years old today. Over the years Smokey has been a live bear, an animated bear and a hand-drawn bear, but his message is always the same, namely environmental protection and the prevention of forest fires. You can learn more about the environment by taking one of our Environmental Science courses.
