Today’s blog is difficult for us to write because it deals with unethical student activity in online groups. Recently we came across an online group whose members were clearly trying to trade or, in some instances, sell answers to each other. Such behavior is wrong, unethical and strictly prohibited under American School’s honor system. We are working to identify members of this group and possible penalties for them include invalidating student credit and grades and revoking student diplomas. We realize that most of the students in our accredited middle school program, accredited high school program and independent study program are honest and do things the right way. We are grateful to those students and their parents and counselors. That said, this blog is a reminder that cheating in any form is not tolerated, and if we catch students cheating, there will be consequences. Thank you for your cooperation and for making American School a safe and fair place to learn.
