It’s January 7, and African-American author Zora Neale Hurston was born on this date in 1891. When our self-published Writing 1 and Writing 2 courses were in production, the author wanted to include examples of excellent writing by authors of diverse backgrounds. Zora Neale Hurston was one author included in that process. Her birthday is a good time to remind you that we happily serve students of all backgrounds.
